When using equipment individually, the sound might be clean, but connecting multiple devices can introduce noise due to ground loops. SP-GND offers a solution to this problem.
Simply connect SP-GND in the signal path to reduce noise caused by ground loops.
SP-GND allows you to choose the best combination to match your environment by selecting the connection method for the ground pin of the XLR connector on both the input and output sides: Connect, Off, or AC couple.
You can select the optimal settings from up to 27 combinations to minimize noise from ground loops.
Connect: Direct connection
Off: Disconnection
AC couple: AC coupling
Devices have multiple ground points even within the same equipment, including chassis ground, audio signal ground, and power ground, which protect audio signals from various noises.
Unbalanced devices such as guitars, basses, and pedal effects are connected to a single ground point, from the power adapter to input/output jacks and footswitches. When connecting unbalanced equipment to balanced devices, noise originating from power and chassis grounds can occur.
Using SP-GND with equipment that lacks ground lift functionality, such as 500 series chassis, reduces noise from ground loops.
SP-GND is also effective in reducing ground loop noise in guitar or bass pedalboards.
Additionally, connecting SP-GND between the DI output and the mixer reduces noise picked up by audio signal cables from lighting, other systems, and power sources.
